Cru’s mission is to build spiritual movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus. As we launch movements in DC this year, we are excited to see God work in the hearts of students. If you are interested in starting Cru on your campus, follow the tab for your school above or contact us here. We would love to talk with you more!
DC Cru Staff
Andrew grew up in the DC area (on the Virginia side) and graduated with a degree in Computer Information Systems at James Madison University. He loves playing sports, watching sports and reading about sports (in that order). Naturally an introvert, he is known to not like coffee, chocolate or fun. He also thought Christianity was absurd until God changed his heart, his mind and his life in college. Now he loves seeing lives redeemed by the Gospel.
Karlayne grew up in the Washington DC area (on the Virginia side) and graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Marketing Information Systems. She loves coffee, running, traveling and adventures. She has been to all seven continents, over 40 countries and still has a long dream list of places to go and things to do. She fell in love with Jesus at Oakton High School and loves to talk to people about Jesus and what he has done and continues to do in her life. She is married to Andrew and loves living and raising their family in the Washington DC area.
Halie was a student at Marymount University where she studied communications and was first introduced to Jesus her sophomore year. She loves board games, Disney movies and puzzles. She loves fun and spontaneity, whether that means impromptu swing dancing with elderly men in East Asia or taking a trip to Harris Teeter just to eat sugar cookies. She is passionate about community and authenticity and is SO excited to spend her days investing in people, learning about the Bible together and sharing life…especially over coffee.
Kayla graduated from Bradley University in 2012 with a degree in German, which she does speak fluently. She originally moved to DC in 2013 to marry her husband, Patrick. After two years of working in the business world, she decided she could do nothing more important with her life than share the Gospel of Jesus. She joins Cru excited to reach students with the Gospel in arguably the most influential city in the U.S., if not the world. She treasures traveling, reading books, playing with her pets Sasha (the cat) and Murphy (the turtle), and spending time with friends.
